About
about MAKE-A-THEK
make-a-thek is an EU funded project that brings modular, easy-to-replicate makerspaces into public libraries. These spaces focus on fashion and crafts, offering open access to innovative and circular approaches to making and design. Through community co-creation, the project developed this practical toolkit and open educational resources to help libraries set up their own makerspaces.
European project: make-a-thekPLOT LIBRARIES
The pilot libraries bring together different geographical contexts, community needs, levels of experience and organisational capacities. Each is developing its own make-a-thek journey: explore what they are doing and learn from their experiences to support your own journey.
Listen to librarians' testimonials
Pilot librarians share their first impressions, challenges and discoveries as they activate new creative spaces with their communities.
“It was amazing - the space just pulled you in. One minute you’re watching, the next you’re already trying things out and talking to people you’ve never met before.”
“Honestly? It just feels like: okay, I want to stay here all day and make stuff.”
